About Miss Morning

PINKY PROMISE YOU’LL LISTEN TO MY MUSIC!

Okay you can read my bio now…

Miss Morning is a punky pub-rock musician from Asbury Park, NJ. She got her start in the band Cassette Daydreams at Lakehouse Music Academy, performing at events like Jersey Pride 2023 and 2024.

Inspired by Riot Grrrl after her producer Kate Ortiz introduced her to Rebel Girl by Bikini Kill, Miss Morning embraced raw energy, teaching herself to scream and channeling that passion into her solo project.

Miss Morning’s debut EP, Don’t Miss The Morning, was released on March 14th, 2025. Check it out on the Music page >>

THE TRAGIC BACKSTORY

Miss Morning like all great musicians has a tragic superhero backstory. Miss Morning was born on March 15th, 2009, as Morna Morning. When she was born, she was a tiny puppet with a big mouth, and she couldn’t stop talking.

All was good until one fateful day when she was “like 10” and playing in her little league softball championship. When she went up to bat for what was supposed to be a game-winning home run, the ball turned into a glitter explosion as she hit it. The next pitch struck her in the right eye, and when she awoke, she was no longer a puppet but the worst thing one could be: a teenage girl.

She set her bat down for one minute to collect herself, and it just disappeared into thin air. So, she quit softball and started writing whiny, angry music in her bedroom with a crappy three-string guitar.

To try to help their poor daughter, her parents moved her to Michigan. But you can take the girl out of the Jersey Shore, but you can’t take the Jersey Shore out of the girl. They promptly returned home as soon as she set foot on Michigan soil and started uncontrollably screaming when two teenage boys tried to talk to her.

One told her, “Quiet down, Morna,” so she, on the spot, took on the name Miss Morning. When asked about the outburst by her parents, she simply explained, “I could just like, cut their aggression with a knife… you know?”

Back at the shore, she started writing her highly anticipated debut EP, Don’t Miss The Morning, spending years on it. The EP was released on March 14th, 2025.

Miss Morning is already at work on a second EP, tentatively scheduled for release in 2025 or 2026. Then again, it might not happen, she jokes that she doesn’t want to waste her youth any more than she already has (a little easter egg for those paying attention).

Stream or listen starting February 14th. YOU PINKY PROMISED!
